Hello,
I hope that my question is in the correct category here.
The situation is as follows:
I have to create an interactive (pdf) document with InDesign. But we would also like to see some KPIs like how many views, impressions or pages have been looked at.
I found out that there is tracking you could do with Adobe Analytics but i cannot quite understand where to find the rigth informations. Can someone please help me find a solution?
Thank you very much in advance!
Have a look at InDesign's Publish Online facility, it offers publication analytics.

First — EPUB and PDF are wholly different formats. I'll assume you mean "PDF as an electronic document" here.
Click tracking is, for the most part, a function of the host or presentation platform and not the individual document. There isn't any simple way to pass around a document and have it report openings, page clicks, link clicks etc.
If the document is hosted on a website of your control, you can implement visitor and link tracking as a host feature.
The only way I can think of to track links in an online PDF would be the same as in email: assign a tracking-enabled wrapper to each link. Since that kind of tracking is typically assigned and set up by a host service (and can get quite complex) I don't know how it might be implemented in, say, manual link definitions.
This might be a job for a plain old HTML document instead of PDF.

Thank you very much James!
I think i'll be looking for a host or presentation plattform that can do the job.
Wishing you a nice day.
