Hi -
When I use the "Share" function for a given .indd file, the proofreaders I share it with are able to make suggested edits and delete texts. They can either replace a highlighted text or simply delete it. When I use this function for an exported PDF, I can import their comments and click "Apply" so the text changes are implemented. However, this same "Apply" function appears to be missing when I simply "Share" an InDesign file for proofreading (even though the same edits are available to the proofreaders).
In other words, I have to manually correct the proofreader's edits, even though they have marked the text and made their suggestion (which I wish to apply).
Is this a feature that we can expect from InDesign "Share" in the future?

This feature is not in Share for Review. It would be great if it was.
This feature IS in PDF Commenting (if you sent a PDF for comment from Acrobat and have trained your commenters to use the 3 auto-edit comment tools amongst the 20 comment tools)

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your answer.
I initially pitched the PDF Commenting solution as I really like the "Apply" function for changes I had tracked. However, upon testing it, it didn't seem to work for all our changes in various documents, and so the win of the functionality was lost. We tested Share for Review and thought the live-update feature was quite useful.
Here's to hoping the latter will be be updated with an "Apply" button soon!

Agreed. One simple thing about PDF Commenting is the ID doc must remain the same until comments come back. If pages are added, or things moved around, the Comments lose track of where they came from and where they should go.
