Please help me. This black box keeps appearing everytime I drop a photo on the document. Once it pops up it doesn't go away. it stays fixed.

How can I turn it off or fix it?

What version of InDesign are you using (exact version - choose About InDesign to see)?

Have you tried pressing  the Esc (Escape) key on your keyboard.

If that doesn't work try restoring your InDesign preferences:

Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

Hi Jorge:

There are various levels of rebuilding preferences and cache files. Which one or ones did you try?
