Bugs in tints and arrows

Contributor ,
Nov 24, 2025 Nov 24, 2025

• If I click on the slider for a tint, it just collapses the slider. I have to type in manually

• Same with choosing a stroke thickness

• Lost ability to add an arrowhead to a stroke, start or end

Will restart but Mac was off all weekend.

Brutal

Try rebuilding preferences and caches:

Will it make a difference?

I was incorrect. This did not fix it. I figured out the bug. It's because I changed my Preferences on Interface to be "Auto-Collapse icon Panels"; this causes the issue of trying to click on the drop down inside the panel to not work correctly.

So it's a bug.

Hi @Juan Cano,

Thanks a lot for the update and for pinpointing what triggers the behavior. I just tested this on my side in both 20.5.1 and the latest 21.0.2, with Auto-Collapse Icon Panels enabled and disabled, and the sliders and arrowhead dropdowns worked normally for me. When you get a moment, please try updating to 21.0.2 and let me know if the issue still appears there.

If it continues, please try this quick reset of panel-related components and see if it helps:
Close all Adobe apps, then rename the CEP folder to CEP.old from this location:
Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe

If the behavior persists, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from both of these locations:
Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Once renamed, relaunch InDesign and test again.

If the issue is still reproducible afterward, a short screen recording would be super helpful so I can share it directly with the team. Also please confirm whether this happens in newly created documents or only in existing files.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Thank you; the update did not change the behavior. See video when trying to change the attributes of a stroke. Will try your other fix.

I do not have a CEP folder in the directory. See attached. I renamed the UXP folder (Not sure where the other one with the ~ is), and behavior didn't change. See video showing Stroke editing with Auto Collapse and without Auto Collapse.
