Bullets have vanished

Hello, I am working on a document for a client. It was already set up in InDesign and the orginal designer had used manual bullets. To speed up formatting I set up a paragrah and charater style for the bullets and applied this style to the work i was doing in the doc. Now for some reason the orginal designer can see the manual bullets they placed in the doc. They can see the ones I had added, but not thiers. Strangely I can still see all the bullets added by me and them. Can anyone shed light on why this has happened?

How are you collaborating? Dropbox?

This is something that could happen if you both opened the file at the same time. You'd both wind up with your own conflicted copies.
