Buttons and forms: Change the look of a checkbox without exchanging the checkbox

My indesign form has lots of checkboxes in a shape that I have selected in the library of different checkboxes. Now I want to change their appearance, but I don't want to remove and insert new boxes. I simply want to change the already existing check boxes to another look (also from the library). I don't understand how! In theory, I could just click on a different box selection. But no.

Help, anyone?

Hi @lf_877:

That was harder than I expected. 😅

You'll need to use the layers panel because ungrouping/regrouping will remove the button properties:

A lot of InDesign users (including advanced users) don't use Layers. If that's you, read up on them first and then come back and watch the demo, again.
