Can't import IMAGES

Hey y'all.  I cant import any images into InDesign, regardless of what format they are in - no drag & drop, no CTRL-D, no Place....nothing works.  I just get an error saying "Import Failed".

 

JPEG doesn't work.  PNG doesn't work.  

 

Yes I'm fully updated.

 

No, the layer is not locked.

 

Any help?

Are you placing from a network/cloud drive? Can you place a txt file? Have you restarted the application? Try and open the Images in aother application and resave to make sure they are not damaged or incorrectly (propriotory) parsing
