We are users just like you - we help each other and not Adobe staff. Where staff do frequent the forums, they don't always.
Can you let us know what OS you have? Your computer Specs, RAM, HD space, etc.
As you say Startup Registry - I might assume you're on Windows... but it's not clear.
You have to realise that your situation is unique, it's not common for this to happen - yes we all pay for the apps. Just like I pay for my car, just because I buy it it doesn't mean it doesn't need a service, need more petrol, maybe an upgrade to the tires, or buy snow tires, change the tires, change the oil, etc.
My point is you need to maintain your computer - and yes sometimes things go wonky with computers, I've been using computers since the early 1980s and yes things always go wrong.
Try resetting your preferences: The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.
