I’ve got a really strange issue with InDesign not letting me replace some. DM Sans is open and visable in the font list. But when I try to replace the fonts it doesn’t disappear from the list.
All the documents open up and bring up this missing font list. If I ignore it then the documents do look ok. There’s no highlighted text and nothing appears to be “visually” missing. However, DM Sans does appear in the list with brackets around it – indicating it’s missing.
Any ideas?
Could be part of a style - can you click 'Redefine Style' option before relinking the font?
If a document is not behaving well then try
File>Export
Choose IDML
Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.

Re-saving the document as an idml file then opening worked – I was able to replace the fonts and resave.
Thanks
