I was working on a file in InDesign, but the application suddenly crashed. Now, I'm trying to open the .idml file, but InDesign throws an error message - 'Cannot add data to "filename.idml"'.

Hi @MasterGuns_,
Thank you for the details. That error message, "Cannot add data to 'filename.idml'", typically indicates the file became corrupted during the crash or while saving. We can still try a few things to recover as much as possible.
Could you please confirm which version of Windows you're using and whether the document was stored locally or on a network or cloud location when the crash occurred?
For now, please try creating a new InDesign file and use File > Place to import the IDML into it and see if it imports.
If you're able to share the affected IDML, feel free to send a downloadable link from a cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox. If the content is confidential, you can send it via DM instead. I'll take a look and see if anything can be recovered, although I do want to be transparent that recovery isn't always possible in corruption cases.
Finally, I want to inquire if you noticed the Adobe crash reporter dialog box during the crash. I searched for any crash reports submitted under your community ID but was unable to locate any. Therefore, if you did submit the crash report(or can submit if the crash still occurs would be helpful), kindly send me the email address through DM, so I can review the logs. I'm here to help, so please keep me posted on what you find.
