Cannot edit Tabs in Indesign 18.0

I have not been able to add or edit text Tabs in InDesign 18.0, either directly in the text frame or through stylesheets. This is paralysing!

Anyone has the same issue or a fix?  Yes, I have restarted my computer, restarted InDesign, and also trashed the preferences.

Hi @soujo1,

It works for me on a WIN machine. Are you on a MAC? Can you test on another computer? Does this happen on a particular file or all files? If it's a particular file, then export it in IDML format and then resave it back to INDD and then check.

It's working again. I don't know why. Just seemed to fix itself after some time.

I swear I didn't imagine the problem though, as it also happened last week. I fixed it that time by trashing preferences, but that didn't work today when I tried.

But I'll keep your suggestions in mind for the next time it happened. (Yes, I'm on a Mac.)

No worries, afterall it's a software and there are n number of variables in play here so such things do happen sometimes. It's good that you finally got it working.
