Cannot edit text box in InDesign after I shared in InCopy?

This is what I get for trying to be hip and cool, LOL.

I shared a simple one page file with a team member to see if the online InCopy idea could work for our process. Not a great experience but that's another story.

I opened the file in InDesign this morning to make some edits and I can't do any edits. I was trying to do a find/replace and it doesn't 'see" the copy.

I read about check-in and check out but I can't solve it that way. No the text box is not locked.

Hi Juan,

Did you set this up as an .INDDC file; a Adobe-cloud-stored file?

Are you saying the InCopy-on-the-web is not working?

Or did you really use Edit > InCopy > Export... in preparation for the other person using InCopy (not on the web)?

The reason I ask is that you mention checking in and checking out a document. That is only relative to using InCopy + InDesign.

Share with InCopy-on-the-web is a new and different feature that doesn't ask for checkin/checkout.

So, yeah. The two different things are confusingly named "InCopy" but they are different.

Which one are you actually using?

Also, could you upload your screenshot again? It doesn't display.

Let me see if I can answer properly.

At first it was a Desktop-saved file; then I shared the InDesign for InCopy on the web using the new SHARE feature (this is all new for me). This in turn saved it on the clould (I think).

When I got it back, I re-saved it on my desktop (I don't use the Adobe Cloud). Yesterday I went into my desktop, found the FINAL file I had saved and opened it. That is the file I am seeing the issue with. See my screenshot.

I didn't Check-out or check-in anything.

Hi @juancanocorvias,

Thanks for your patience while I looked into this. I was able to reproduce the same behavior on macOS and have logged it as a bug with the product team. The issue does not occur on Windows and appears to be specific to macOS at the moment.

The team has started investigating this, and I will share updates here as soon as I have more information. In the meantime, could you please confirm the macOS version and the InDesign version you are using?

If you notice anything else about when this happens, feel free to share it here as well.

Abhishek
