Cannot print from InDesign with Epson Stylus Photo R3000

Is anyone else having trouble printing an InDesign document on a Mac with this printer? Other programs will print, have reset the printer to the Mac, installed new printer driver, so not a problem with the printer. Just keep getting Communication error shortly after printing starts for a InDesign document (Illustrator will print the document, then get the Communication error notice).
Any help would be appreciated.

Export a PDF and print that.

What is your system? (I assume you have downloaded a new driver appropriate for that system? especially if you are on Big Sur)

What is your connection? USB, Ethernet, Wireless? Does the error occur if you use a different connection?
