I take it that it means that the problem started after upgrading to Sequoia.

Then that's probably the reason for the issue. Sequoia is too new. It's still too risky to upgrade to Sequoia on a working machine (plus, with all fairness, there isn't a single reason to do so anyway).

Try to revert to Sonoma one way or another. If you can create a separate partition on your drive, install Sonoma there and work from there. You can switch back to S

You don't SAVE PDF files to InDesign. It sounds like you want to do File > Place to place it in an open InDesign file.

From what I've read recently - there are bugs in Sequoia - specifically network access / protocols - so maybe even if you are not saving on the network drive - it might be somehow related.

I have a backup computer running InDesign 19.5 and I've installed Sequoia 15.0.

With a test InDesign file, I had no problem exporting a PDF.

Can you provide more information about the file. Does this happen with every file which you test?

hi there = yes happens every time. My place of work I work off a shared server. Meaning I have to rename the pdf - I cannot overright the PDF with the same name. This used to happen years ago, but was fixed. Thanks

Do you have an IT person at your place of work who can help you with this kind of problem? Server issues are difficult to solve from outside the system.
