Cannot unlock a locked rectangle

Explorer ,
Jul 17, 2023 Jul 17, 2023

I created a rectangle using the rectangle shape tool, then positioned it behind a drop cap of my body text, then locked the rectangle in place. Now, I cannot unlock the image to edit it. I moved the body text away for the rectangle to expose the image, but I still cannot unlock it! Whats the issue?

Can you see and unlock it from the Layers panel?

1) Double-click on the lock icon at upper left. It is the only part of a locked object you can select directly and this should unlock it.

2) Use Ctrl-Alt-L to 'Unlock All On Spread' (also in Object menu).

3) Make sure the rectangle is not on a separate, locked layer. (See your Layers pane.)

The Unlock All on Spread function did the trick! Thanks!

That's actually a very poor solution if you have other locked objects...
