Hi there,

Is there any Designer willing to share with me any reccomendation about plugins to make automatic impaginations?

I need to be able to wait unitl the last minute and then throw everything into the mounth of the software, I did some experimentation with ConTeXt (which is another dialect to TeX) but it is too difficult to me.

The catalogs I work with are pretty visual, with a lot of pictures of products of any sizes, I need something that is able to modifiy the layout accordingly. This is a niche inside InDesign so it is very difficult to find online reliable sources but also articles you may consider worthy are welcomed!

Thanks in advance,

D.

Hi,

thanks for your reply I stepped into that one, looks promising although their website doesn't show any documentation.

I'd like to find a product that thinks as a designer and not as a programmer (like for instance ConTeXt) otherwise we need a programmer to perform the automation and the logic behind.

Ok then - there's a free 2 week trial on the InCatalog one. Worth a try.

There's also this one I forgot about

Do you have any direct experience with any of those?

What would be your favorite one?

Personally - I do not - but in 15+ odd years on these forums these 2 have always been recommended.

Gotcha! Well I'll investigate about both!

Thank you very much!

If neither of those meets your needs, EasyCatalog is another good option.

Quick update, the manuals and the tutorials of InCatalog where in the website my bad...

I skimmed those and to me the emphasys is put more on the accurancy of the text fields rather than to fluid/automatic layout.

Maybe something custom made would be better?
