Maybe your Chapter paragraph styles are followed by paragraph styles with different "space before" values?

Hi nereids73
Are your chapters in a single InDesign document, or are you working with multiple chapter files that you manage through a book window?
If a single document, try clicking a chapter title that looks the way you want them all to look, and then right click the chapter title style in Window > Paragraph Styles and select Redefine Style. This will update all of the instances of the chapter title style in that file so that they are all using the same definition.
If using a book file, you can synchronize styles across all of the book files.

One more thought:
Turn on Type > Show Hidden Characters and look for multiple ¶s after the titles.
If this isn't caused by a style inconsistency, then it may be caused by the multiple hard returns that most typists add when preparing a document. You can easily remove all of them with an Edit > Find/Change saved query. It will be listed in the Query list at the top of the dialog box.

"Show Hidden Characters" looks ok, problem is not there.
For some reason I don't have the option "Redifine Style"?

You wrote above you have only one style?
Why? You should work with Paragraph styles.
Do you have Character Styles used?

I meant I have only one style for chapters, because I only need one chapter. For headings I have several styles.
I have both paragraph styles and character styles. But I don't think the problem is there, because the space is different no matter what charecter/paragraph style.

Hi: nereids73
Would you like to share the file? I'd be happy to take a look. You can put it on dropbox and post the link here (public) or hover over my name above and message me directly (private).
If not, please share screen shots with your cursor in the various versions of the chapter titles, with hidden characters showing, the Paragraph Styles panel open and the paragraph view of the Control panel (click the ¶ at the top left of your document window).

What version of Indesign are you using? In CC2019, Paragraph Styles have an update allowing you to set a different space in between paragraphs of the same style.

Is this picture ok?
There is a minor difference between chapters 2.5. and 2.6.
I have a Finnish version of InDesign, and it is CC2019.

Looks like your body text snaps to baseline grid while your headers don't.
You might want to check that out...
