CMD-0 stops working in InDesign (and all Creative Cloud apps) on Mac

In the past few weeks I've found that CMD-0—fit to window—simply doesn't work at some point while I'm working.

When that happens, I've discovered it also doesn't work in other Creative Cloud apps (Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat).

The only solution is to restart my computer which only fixes it temporarily.

Running Sonoma on a MacBook Air M2.

What version of Sonoma?
What version of InDesign?

Are both fully up to date?

There were some updates in both OS and InDesign to resolve some issues.

---

If you are up to date with the latest versions and it's still not working

Then it could be a third party app that is running in the background that is taking over the keyboard shortcut.

I get this with WebRoot security app running on the computer, where you have to Pause Keyboard Shortcuts or something regularly as it stops the InDesign shortcuts.

Or it could be another app.

----

Basic troubleshooting steps

Try resetting your preferences:

Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the

LATEST

I'm running Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71) and InDesign 19.1.

I finally determined what was causing the problem.

My desktop version of Todoist was the culprit.

As long as Todoist is not running I can use cmd-0.

I'm having the same exact issue recently.

I'm running Ventura 13.6.4 on iMac 2017.

All my software is up to date.
