Copying and pasting (manually) multiline URLs from a PDF to a browser causes an error because there is an extra space that is NOT in the original. The PDF is generated from InDesign and hyphenation is turned off. The hyperlink works in the PDF when simply selected as well as right clicking and using the "copy link location". But not when you select the text and manually copy/paste. Any thoughts?

PDFs have no text wrap, per se. The end of each line within 'wrapped' text is typically a line-return. That's likely what's causing the cut and paste fault. I am not sure there's any good workaround.
All of this is a reason to use embedded links for clicking (as you apparently are) and to avoid both long and wrapped URLs in any kind of publication other than perhaps a web page. Neither of those is a complete fix, and sometimes long URLs are a necessity... but.

So if "copy link location" works - why do you need to select it and then copy?

Sounds like expected behavior and in any event has absolutely nothing to do with InDesign. I too would be interested in why this is even a problem.

Well, only in that cut and paste out of wrapped text, like Word and most web pages, does not break the lines. PDF could be said to be anomalous in this respect. But then, a live link that can be clicked or click-copied largely eliminates the need to cut and paste for navigation purposes.
