I had NO problem with InDesign 2021, now with the update Indesign 2022 my files keep corrupting and damaging. Retracing to older version of my document and then now can not create PDF - interactive or print? Keeps crashing... new immediate help. Cleared Preferences and still crashed, now reinstalling InDesign. Please help

Other methods to try:

Could you try using File>Export and choose IDML - open that up in InDesign - resave as an indesign document using a new file name.

Does the issue persist?

You could try:

------

Try resetting your preferences (there's a deeper clean in the link):
The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

----

You can always try the creative cloud cleaner tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

---

Rollback to previous version does it work again?

Thank you.. I did all those things and none of them worked. Then, had to delete InDesign 2022 and reinstalling 2021 and that was only thing that worked. No problems since, made several backups just in case and didn't have to use of them.

If uninstalled and reinstalled - then the link to the creative cloud cleaner tool should have worked.

However, it's fine - try to remember these steps as it's usual first steps in fixing most issues.

LATEST

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about that. We have recently released an update for Indesign v17.0.1. Please update to the latest version by following the steps provided in this link (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html#Checkforlatestupdates). If that doesn't help, could you please confirm where are these files, including links, are saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)? Also, you may package your files and share the download link with us via DM or here. We will try to recover them. I must also inform you that file recovery can't be guaranteed with 100% success. We'll surely try our best.

Regards,

Anshul Saini
