corrupted file

Indesign keeps crashing when i try to open a file.

Doesn't even give me the chance to make corrections...

Tried resetting preferences, doesn't help.

Do you only have the problem with one document? Or does Indesign crash with every document?
What happens if you duplicate this problematic file and use .idml instead of .indd? Can the file be opened?

Do you not have a current backup of this file?

Only happens when I open this file.

Tried the idml but my links don't work anymore then.

It actually sounds like the problem could be link related.

When you do the IDML path, the IDML file and the new INDD file must be saved on the same place as the old file, otherwise it can loose the links.

Another problem appears here (and was here on my computer too) that cloud files, like files saved on Dropbox are not saved locally, only on the remote server. In the preferences of Dropbox the setting should be on files are available offline. If the files are only online available, InDesign does not find the links.
