InDD Crashing for me on startup, after auto-update today, May 18.

Opening currently working files will crash and send crash report option, etc.

Rebooting with 'delete prefs file' results in same crash issue.

Please suggest possible / best / method to repair or ?

Hi there,

Sorry about the crashing! I know that's really frustrating. I would request if you could try following these steps and share your observations with us:

  • Rename CEP folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP
  • If that doesn't help, rename extensions folder from   C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP

While performing each step, please make sure that all Adobe apps are closed.  Feel free to let us know if you still need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Regards,

Srishti

I am having the same problem on my Mac. I updated to the latest version and now InDesign keeps crashing and asking to send crash report. Which instructions were you referring to and do you have a solution for the Mac?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

For Mac, steps are same but the folder locations are different.

  • Rename CEP folder from /Library/Application Support/Adobe to CEP.old
  • If that doesn't help, rename extensions folder from /Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP to extensions.old

While performing each step, please make sure that all Adobe apps are closed.  Feel free to let us know if you still need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Regards,

Srishti
