Creating a large product catalogue

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a program that can be used alongside indesign for creating large catalogue.

i have a catalogue that needs to be created with over 5000 products, descriptions and images. there has to be an easy way to imput all this infomation into a template.

The best solution to cataloging in InDesign is EasyCatalog from 65bit.com. They also have a Lite version, which might do the job. Check it out.

If you're on Mac you may try MyDataMerge from ToolboxCode. Its easy to use, has a lot of features. It's NOT as powerful as easy catalog. But you can try it free to see if it fits your needs.

do you know of anything cheaper?

 

i just tried to use data merge however it doesnt seem to work well at all if i am trying to do a multiple record merge on the pages.
