Those boxes are representing characters for which there are no glyphs in the font you are using. You will need to use a different font.

Thank you. When i use another font, there are other bothering signs or a
plus space instead of crosses, which unbalance the text... Can you give me
a process (i am eally new) to get rid of these "bugs" and have my text
without any surabondent spaces, please?))

What is supposed to be in the text in those places?

I cannot tell if this is "real" text that is missing or some stray character that has been inserted accidentally.

You might find it helpful to look at the text in Story Editor (place your cursor in the text, then Edit > Edit in Story Editor or Ctrl/Cmd + Y) to see what is actually written. Turning on hidden characters can also help to identify problems (Type > Show Hidden Characters).

As I wrote in French, you must run a find-change to get rid of these extra spaces. But you must run different find-changes:

  • about the square before dots: copy the square and the dots, paste them in the find field and replace them by a dot
  • about the square after dots: copy the dots and the square, paste them in the find field and replace them by nothing
  • do the same exercise with the apostrophe : find square'square and replace by '

If none of them belong there you can use Find/Change to remove them. Paste the copied character into the Find field, leave the change field blank, and Change All.

Work on a copy of the file in case anything goes wrong.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bidirectional_text#:~:text=The%20%22pop%22%20directional%20formatting%....
