Hi all,

Is it possible to cut part of an image within a frame? I have an image hanging far into the pasteboard and I'm hoping to trim the side of it.

What would be the best way to go about this?

Thanks!

You can edit the shape of the frame. This will crop your image to whatever size/shape you want.

Thanks. When I try this, I'm getting unexpected results. The shape is cropping in a way I don't want.

Still figuring it out, thanks!

What croping does your frame? How do you want it different?

When I crop the image, the angle of the triangle changes.

When I try to delete anchor points and re-draw, parts of my image that I want to keep gets deleted.

Add extra anchor points with the pen tool to maintain the shape you want. You can move anchor points around after you have added them, or delete them if they are making things difficult.  If you have experience with making shapes in illustrator, its the same concept.

Correct, but only if you activate the option in Export PDF > Compession > Crop image Data to Frame.

Leave it as it is, as if you change later your mind how you want to present it. When you export PDFs you find a setting to crop images upon PDF export in the Section > Crop image data to frame.

Tick that.

Yes, thank you! Much better than the workaround I went with 🙂
