Data merge and lines vs. varying box width

Greetings, 

In short - I have a signature/line that needs to work for a number of different titles. The titles are inserted from Data merge and I just thought I'd throw this out there  - am I overcomplicating/overthinking things? How would you go about solving this? Am I on the right track - or not?
