Data Merge will not place eps files

Hi;
I run a new version of a job every couple months.
I’m using InDesign and DataMerge to assemble the 1ups.
There are 3 elements; a text description, a filing number and a barcode.
All 3 items are listed in an Excel file, and I flow the info in from there.
Everything lives in the same folder, etc., etc.
I’ve been using the same process for years...

Now when trying to flow info from a new list, it’s not picking up the barcode.
Even when I go into a successful prior job and try to reflow it without changing anything it won’t pick up the upcs that it was just using a minute ago.
I’ve deleted the preferences, rebooted applications and mac several times... ugh!

I am running InDesign 2022 on a 2015 imac with Monterey OS.

I’m waiting for a return call from tech-support, but thought I’d try here as well.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Does it work with PDF? Use PDFs instead. EPS should not be used in InDesign anyway.
You can batch convert EPS in Acrobat Distiller. If that does not work, you have a problem with the EPS files anyway like T1 fonts which are not supported anymore.
