Document errors when opening

Every time I try to open a file, they will receive the following error "Cannot open the document "..." You may not have permission or the document may be open already."  But it will work again on the 2nd attempt, when it closed and re-open, it won't open again, and so on. The problem is happened only on inDesign files and on the network, not other files, and this happens on all of the documents I try to open off our Mac server.

What I have done so far...

Clear preferences and caches folders multiple times.

Update InDesign

This error is often caused by a left-over lock file in the same folder as the document you are trying to open. Check for and delete any .idlk file.

Otherwise, you probably really don't have the required permission. Mac OS is pretty finicky about permiossions.

Thank you! There are no leftover locked files. These are files that I downloaded and I am the only one that has even seen the files. As for access, it is granted everywhere.

Did you give InDesign all permissions to access files?

In categories Full Disk Access and Files and Folders.

( I'm not a MacOS user, but I can remember some discussions where granting access solved a similar issue. )
