Embed font for Epub/ebook - inDesign

Kindle is dropping single letters like "a" and "I" in new ebook. Frustrating.

How do I embed for Epub? I don't see any option as I export.

And/or how do I embed my fonts (Optima) into original inDesign doc?

Suggestions?

Thanks, MLW

First is this for fixed-layout EPUB (FXL), or reflowable? I'm suspecting the former, since it has very little control over fonts at export.

Some fonts just don't export/embed well, in either EPUB or PDF. These are mostly older fonts with limited font info or even broken encoding.

Try substituting another font, preferably a known good Adobe one, to see if this problem goes away.
