Hi there,

Is there a way for me to seamlessly embed animations made from After Effects into InDesign? Preferably without the playback controls at all.

I'm wanting to animate a masthead design and the animations on InDesign are very limited.

I have done the following:

Created an animation on After Effects

Used Media Encoder to export the animation as an .MP4.

Embedded the .MP4 file into InDesign

Published Online.

The video plays fine but there's a couple of issues:

1. The playback controls are always there.

2. The video has a solid background even though I toggled the Transparency Grid off on After Effects.

I'm wanting the masthead to animate automatically on the page load and then remain there whilst the user is on that page - if this makes sense?

Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out, default52q82v0tbiny.

I'll move your post to the InDesign community so that InDesign experts can help. For the transparency issue, MP4 format doesn't support transparency. So you might need to export to a different format that has transparency support as well as supported in InDesign.

Thanks,
Nishu
