If I place an object using the Place window (Cmd+D) I can check the box and enable transparent backgrounds on objects without any issue.  After I do that, if I click and drag that same object into InDesign, that object will import with transparency each time after.  Clicking and dragging new objects however always gives me an opaque white background, and I cannot find a way to change that.  I don't want to have to go through the Place command each time as it takes more time.  How exactly do I do this?

That option is sticky so once you set it, it should remember it.

It seems to be doing it now - for some reason it wasn't before.  Thanks.
