Hi, my question is EPUB related. All the page to page links in my EPUB function perfect. Except when the same document is downloaded on iPhone some of the links do function the way they should. When imported in Books they fail to do what they are supposed to do? anyone any ideas?

ePUB is just a ZIP'ed website - HTML + CSS + images - so "what you see" depends on the "browser" / reader - you are using.

No two EPUB readers are quite the same, even the 'same' one on different platforms. It may be possible to tweak the EPUB so that it works correctly on iPhone, but it's always a hit or miss proposition to get any EPUB to work on all readers.

I was afraid of that. So better to simplify the concept to be sure. THX.

Most EPUB technical issues can be solved, but it's a given that you have to pick your preferred reader/audiences and that there will be a descending list of compatibility with others.

but even then, we are testing in our preferred group. But still doesn t work . This publication/picture book is designed for iphone. So if the key button/link is not to be trusted...... THX for your reply

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. You can make EPUB work perfectly on any one reader (with minor caveats). You can usually make them work perfectly or "well" on some defined set of readers. What you can't do is make them work "acceptably" or better on all readers — there will always be outliers to your core, tested group.
But other than the completely vanilla. standards-based readers like Calibre, Thorium, etc. (and no, Apple's reader is not quite vanilla or fully standards-compliant), you wil have to tweak and adjust an EPUB export to work well on any specific group. So I didn't mean it should work on the iPhone reader, not without some tweaking, but you could probably get it there if that's your target audience. (It then might not work well on some other fairly standard readers... it's completely whac-a-mole.)
