Hello,

I use Indesign 17.3 x64

And Microsoft Word 2205 (Microsoft 365)

I can't place any document from Word whatever the type of file (.docx, .doc, .rtf)

I always get the same error :

"Cannot Place this file. No filter found for requested operation."

I tried with different files (even an empty one).

I also tried with an excel file... same error.

But If I try to import a picture or a drawing, no trouble. It works perfectly.

It is very penalizing as I have books to publish and the author used many formattings that I must preserve. Copy and paste works but lose all the formattings.

If someone as known and solved the same trouble I would much appreciate an helping hand.

Start by replacing the preferences: Reset InDesign Preferences and Other Troubleshooting

If that faails to solve the problem (likely), uninstall and reinstall InDesign from the CC Desktop App. If that still doesn't solve it, uninstall, run the cleaner tool: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to solve installation problems  and reinstall.
