Hello Adobe Community!

I'm coming here in hopes that someone can help me figure out why I cannot re-link the missing files in my InDesign document. I have nexver experienced this before and I am at a loss for what to do.

So far, I have tried creating a copy of the document and re-linking the files there, but the problem still persists when I save, close, and re-open the document. I have updated my computer (MAC OS Ventura), I have made sure I am using the most updated version of InDesign (v19.2) & the issue is still occuring!!

When I go to re-link the file I get the following pop-up error message "Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application".

I have not moved any files since creating this document, so that would not be the case. All of my files are organized and saved on myiCloud. What am I doing wrong here? What am I missing? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

It seems as though my files were off-loaded from my computer which was causing this issue. I store all of my files via icloud - and that has never happened before so I'm really not sure what exactly caused my files to off-load, but I was able to restore everything which allowed me to re-link all files within my InDesign document!

What version of Ventura? The current version is 13.6 and earlier versions were loaded bugs. Additionally, you must make sure that all of the files are fully synced to your local harddrive.

It's version 13.6.4 - how do I ensure that my files are synced? I've always had all of my files saved via iCloud and have never ran into this issue until today.

Thanks!

Where is located your new file?

Or by "re-link" you mean refresh / update?

@hannahkes  Sorry for the trouble. Some users have reported a similar issue in the past on this community thread and they have shared the possible workaround for such a scenario. Please try the same and share the outcome.

Regards,
Vivek
