Hi Michael:

I see you are on the InDesign beta, which is still under development. Can you try this from the general release?

It's probably worth the reminder that beta versions are for playing with and testing on a back-up computer—we always want to do our "real" work on the official release.

Hey Barb

Yes, at the moment I work on the Beta, because the Version 18.5 doesnt run on my mac Studio pro (the preload window opens and closes after that). But in the Version 18.4 (which is running) I have the same crash:

Thanks for your help!

Hi @michaelf78098330 ,

when you switched from the beta documents to InDesign 18.4 or 18.5, did you just use the documents that were saved with the beta version and opened them in the release version? That could be also an issue. Some faulty data in beta could be still in the documents; even if you saved them with the release version.

I would go like that:

Export all of your book's documents to IDML.

Open the IDML files in the release version of InDesign and save them to a new name.

Only then add them to your InDesign book file you created with the release version of InDesign.

Hm. If you are not working with an InDesign book file follow my suggestions as well.

Convert all documents you started or worked on with the beta version of InDesign through IDML.

Hope, that helps…

Regards,
Uwe Laubender
