I'm getting a "No filter found for requested operation" error message when trying to import an excel file. Anyone know how to resolve this?

Hi @nigelr36009750 ,

hm, another thing: maybe the XLSX file was not saved from Microsoft Excel and contains some "meta" data or contents that InDesign cannot read? What to do? Open the XLSX file in MS Excel and save with a new name. Try to import it again to InDesign.

What version of InDesign?

Which OS?

Have you tried closing down InDesign and relaunching?

Rebooting?

Yes. Uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign and still the same.

Hmm well, unless you used the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to uninstall, it's possible uninstall/reinstall would have no effect. The measures I mentioned are quicker and easier, and should be tried first. So I suppose my original questions still stand.

That's exactly what it was. Thank you. Is there a way I can feed back to Adobe? XLSX files exported from Apple Pages could presumably be accomodated into the import filter to avoid compatiblity issues for other users in future.

Send your feedback to Apple, it's their faulty export that's causing this. BTW, this holds for files exported from Google Sheets as well.
