Font changing issues in inDesign

New Here ,
Jan 19, 2023 Jan 19, 2023

Hi, I'm working on a French language text on inDesign and the apostrophes are changing everytime I open the file.

When I created the file, the apostrophe is correct (see screenshot on the left). However, once I close it and open it again, the apostrophe changes (see screenshot on the right)

The screenshot above is the PDF export (left side) and the inDesign file (right side).

I already uninstalled and reinstalled the font and the same thing happens. The font I used is Raleway.

I am not sure if this is an inDesign bug or a font issue? Hope someone can help me because I tried googling already and didn't get the solution for it.

Hi @denisep59095344,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the delay in response. A few more details would be super helpful in investigating the issue.

  • The version of InDesign and the operating system.
  • Does that happen with every file or with this specific file?
  • Please create a new text box in a new InDesign file, try writing apostrophes, and see how that looks.
  • Does that happen with this specific font or all fonts?
  • Is similar happening in other Adobe apps like Illustrator?

We will try our best to assist you.

Thanks,

Harshika

This discussion is a few years old but seems to address your need (which in turn seems to be using either one form of quotes that is not the default, or a mix):
