Footnotes is running very slow in InDesign

I am using indesign 2019. I have good hardware (RAM 16GB, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz). The problem is the slow footnote update. I imported text from vord, it has 500pages and about 330 footnotes. Any changes I make to the footnote text, updating takes all eternity. What is the cause? Is it possible to speed up the work with footnotes?

Sorry to hear that the footnotes are working very slowly. I found a similar issue reported here. Could you please try the suggestion shared by our expert?
