Are you saying that you can't select the text?

Have you tried going to the Object menu > Unlock All on Spread

Hi @dantea58501880:

 

Jeff gave you two things to check:

  • Object > Unlock All on Spread if the text frame is locked
  • Check to see if the text frame is on a master page but you are on a body page—if it is, you can either edit it on the master page or you can Ctrl+Sh+click/Cmd+Sh+click to override it on a body page

 

I'll add two more:

  • Check to see if the text frame is on a locked layer (Window > Layers)
  • Ctrl/Cmd+click a few times on the frame to see if it is underneath another frame.

Or maybe the text frame is on a Master Page. All objects from a Master are locked on local pages. Look at Master Pages at the top of your Pages panel to see if the text is part of a Master Page.
