Generating an Index

I am trying to run the Generate Index with a book created of 20 files. The index will consist of about 13,000 part numbers. I have tried this unsuccessfully about 3 times. Does this feature still work?

It does. How have you tagged your index entries?

I have Topics and Reference entries. They are all numerical. 

I ran this on another file about six months ago and it worked fine, although it consisted of about 8,000 part numbers.

In what way is the index function failing? With that many numbers, it may just take a long time.

Also, all of the book docuemnts need to be open during the index generation.

I know it does normally take a while. I have left it running for overnight. It just sits ideal.

I have not had all the files open during this in the past. I can try that.
