Google fonts work in CC but not Office?

I can use all google fonts in all my CC apps, but cannot in Office (Word in particular).  I know this is not quite the correct place to pose a query but any other people have the same problem?   It is driving me mad!  I need to be able to give people simple versions of things in Word, that I have also done in InDesign, ie letterhead templates.  TIA

And what good would those fonts do in Word? When you send the Word file, it's not going to take the fonts with them and Word does not throw missing font messages.

You're right though, this is not the place. Try here:

I have some clients who want to use a particular font I have used in InDesign for them. If it worked, they would also download the font.. I have tried Microsoft and not been able to get anywhere.  Given they work in CC, I thought someone may have some experience in this and be nice and help me.....

You’re not going to find too many lovers of Word around here, unfortunately.

If you want to tell us more, go for it, and maybe someone can help.

Details: Version of Word and operating system to start with. Also, how are you installing the fonts?

I wouldn't say I'm a "lover" or Word, but I've been teaching it since 1.0 on DOS, so it has made a significant contribution to my finances!

As Bob above asked, we need:

  • Operating system
  • Version of Word
  • How and where you are installing the Google font files

mac, high sierra, office 365

all fonts work and are installed and I can see them fontbook

work on all Adobe CC

just not in any Office
I have contacted Microsoft... they literally were useless.  It was kind of embarrassing.  Just btw I tried on 3 other macbook airs in the house and also no luck.

I also don't use Word for any design but the reality is that clients do and they often want a font to match that I have used on their other work, ie simple forms or even body copy on their letters for example that they create.

They will often ask me to set up a template but if I can't use the google font (any of them) that I can use in CC, then I have a problem.
