Having trouble checking out an InCopy file.

Hi,

I'm relearning InCopy after a few years ... I'm having an issue checking out a file from a colleague who designed the layout in InDesign. The message says "Unable to check out this file. It may be in use by someone else?" When I go to the "Assignments" panel, it says that the file is in use, and also there is a red question mark indicating that the file can't be found.

I'm unsure if there is something I can do on my end in InCopy? Or if my designer colleague needs to do something in InDesign to allow me access?

Thank you!

The real issue is the file can't be found. Seems like this entire workflow is badly broken and without more details on exactly how you're working it's impossible to help.
