Hey all,

Indesign keeps desyncing my fonts, and today, it won't even resync them for me.

Farnham text is a brand font that I use daily, is there a way I can keep it from ever desyncing? Sometimes it even happens when I'm in the middle of editing a document.

Thanks for the help!

You can buy a permanent licence for any font. Adobe fonts must be synchronized and you have to be for synchronization to be online.

Hi @Nathan315565169eel,

Thanks for reaching out! I can understand how frustrating it can be when fonts keep desyncing, especially with a brand font like Farnham Text. To help resolve this issue, I’ll need a bit more information:

1. Could you let me know which version of InDesign you’re using? This will help determine if it's related to a specific version.
2. What OS are you working on (Windows/Mac), and what version is it?

3. Is this happening with just one particular file, or does it happen with all InDesign files, even new ones?

In the meantime, here are a few steps that might help:

- Re-sync Adobe Fonts.

- Clearing the font cache can often resolve syncing issues. To do this, you can follow the steps in this [Adobe guide](https://adobe.ly/3ADTMkH) to clear and reset your font cache.

- Ensure that Adobe Fonts is enabled and syncing properly in the Creative Cloud app.

Once I have those details, I can guide you to a more tailored solution. Looking forward to your response!

Best,
Abhishek Rao

Thanks @Willi Adelberger, but I cannot afford the $1000 it costs to license the Farnham family.

@Abhishek Rao, thank you for the help. Right now I am on a Mac OS 14.5 Sonoma with InDesign 2025. This time, I was able to track the issue down to the Creative Cloud app had crashed and was having issues restarting. That said, I have had this problem for probably 6 or 7 years, especially at my old job on a PC.

Hi @Nathan315565169eel,

Thank you for providing the additional details. It’s great that you were able to pinpoint the issue to the Creative Cloud app crashing. Since this problem has been ongoing for quite some time, here are a few additional steps you can take to help prevent font desyncing in the future:

1. Reinstall Adobe Creative Cloud: Sometimes a fresh install of the Creative Cloud app can resolve persistent syncing issues. You can do this by first uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it from the [Creative Cloud website](https://adobe.ly/3C53C6t).

2. As I mentioned earlier, clearing the font cache can help resolve syncing problems. If you haven’t tried this yet, you can follow this [guide](https://adobe.ly/3ADTMkH) for clearing the font cache.

3. Make sure that Adobe Fonts is properly enabled and syncing in your Creative Cloud app. You can verify this by opening the Creative Cloud app, clicking on the "Assets" tab, and confirming that Adobe Fonts is syncing.

Let me know if any of these solutions work or if the problem persists!

Best,
Abhishek Rao
