Salaam Zaid. So i managed to get through to someone in the perpetual license dept. They told me that the reason why i am getting an serial activation prompt on the new install is because i have exceeded my activation limit, which is 2 activations.
Apparently i have 5 activations on my serial. Which i know were all for the same computer, i didn't know i had to deactivate the serial every time i did a fresh install of the os. Because all 5 activations were on the same computer that means that i cannot deactivate the other 4 activations to get if below 2 in order to not receive the serial activation prompt.
I was told that the activation servers no longer exist so the activation number cannot be reset to zero, which is a bit confusing because if i was under 2 activations how would the software be authenticated? From the very first install i have always been prompted to activate the serial. Also, how was i able to install the software a 3rd, 4th and 5th time without being told i had exceeded my limit? And if i were to deactivate it on my current computer i will lose access to Indesign forever because that would only take the count down to 4.
All they could offer me was a subscription at a discounted rate, but i told them i trialled Indesign 2025 and it offers me nothing for my work that CS6 doesn't already have, apart from the diacritical positioning because i foolishly didn't install the ME version at the tim. The situation is really frustrating and upsetting.

I feel for you Saleem. I'm sure we will receive calls from our customers (Adobe users) who will as frustrated as you're now. Sadly, you have the InDesign subscription as the only way to go now.

I wish it was a bit clearer also lol! Way back when i installed CS6 i installed the Engligh Japanese version because i thought the other versions were in those languages. I was told after CS5 the Arabic aspects of Indesign were integrated into CS6 and you no longer needed an ME version, so i didn't understand what the other versions available were.
I really wished i had figured that out back then because fast forward to today and it seems that i cannot get the 'North African Middle East English' version to install because of some missing file error, and Adobe support won't help me because CS6 is no longer supported.
Quite frustrating given that i spent £1200 on the suite at the time, i still use it to this day and really don't need anything that the current CC version offers to do my work, other than the diacritical positioning features, which i can get by without, but would be really handy to have.

Well sure, you can download and install from the link you have there, however, non of the listed copies on the screenshot is a Middle Eastern!
Maybe you know something about this that I don't? I suspect that the second link might include the EN-interface MENA edition of InDesign:
I also wonder about the language where it says "download the language that matches your original purchase." If you bought a North American English license for CS6 at the time, I don't know if you will be able to activate an install of CS6 MENA. At the time of release, my employers wouln't spring for an additional license for the ME edition, so I spent a few years (until the release of Creative Cloud) doing all of my RTL layouts in the North American English version, with a collection of Javascripts. That option still exists for you, if you need to lay out some Arabic in plain-vanilla North American English InDesign CS6.

Thanks for your help Joel. I will try to install and let you know how i get on. I can do vanilla arabic work that works for most jobs with the Indesign i have installed, but i need a bit more control with the book i'm working on at the moment.
