I can't understand what is the reason for changing commands when updating the apps, especially InDesign.
It seems like updates are made to complicate people when using the software.
Can anybody tell where is located the "Span-column" in the "new wonderful version" of InDesign 2024 - essentials?

Right where it's always been, in my copy:

This command hasn't moved from previous versions. When you say "InDesign 2024–essentials" do you mean the Essentials workspace? The Essentials workspace includes the Properties panel, which is intended for a brand new user to get up and running, and doesn't include the Split/Span menu.
In all versions of InDesign since the commands were added in CS6 (and in addition to Style Options that James shared with you), it's available:

recommend to start a new thread, titled appropriately and with exact description of your issue.

You're breaking two forum guidelines (I'm sure not on purpose):
1. Don't tag your posting in an unrelated topic (the subject was "span columns" and your question was "export PDF problem"
2. You need to provide more information if you expect to be helped. Start with your system information: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using. Then provide a description of what you're doing and what the exact result was. For example, did you get an error message? What was it?
