How about SVG files?

Hey Adobe -- It would be great if we could copy/paste SVG files into InDesign and export vector graphics as SVG files as well (like we already can in Illustrator). This would make InDesign much more compatible to use to create vector graphics for Microsoft files such as Powerpoint and other programs that do not import EPS vector graphics.

Hey

You can use File>Place to insert an SVG file already.

Copy and Paste... hmm

I just tried and it worked

Export to SVG - not directly - but there is a workaround

Hope some of that helps

Other Adobe tools that are better suited to illustration and so forth already do manage SVGs; I wouldn't consider it a priority for ID to be able to export to the format.

Yes, I wouldn't be creating vector graphics in InDesign - I'd use Illustrator and save as SVG from there.

You can place that in InDesign.

And I've successfully cut and paste from InDesign to PowerPoint and other apps without having to do any resaving or exporting - simple copy and paste.
