I'm trying to create an index for a catalogue I'm creating, the index is creating fine but if the word is on multiple consecutive pages, it is puting each individual page number and I would like to know if there is a way to contract it down to the first and last number in the sequence, for example it currently says 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and I'd like it to say 1-7 is this possible and if so how do I do it. Thanks in advance.

It’s a small detail, but it really improves the overall user experience. I love how many tools out there are offering these customization options now, whether you're using Word, InDesign, or other software. It's the little things ProsperidadSocial like this that make a huge difference when you're organizing a catalog or any lengthy document.

The script that Michel referred to can be used in a generated index. If you want to mark up index items in the index panel, so to speak, that is, before generating the index, then you can set the page range on the page reference:
This will produce a page range (or truncated page numbers).
