I have 9 paragraph styles used in a 750-page document and need to know how many words are used for each style.
How do I do this?
Thanks.

You can use Find/Change
In the GREP tab type in something like
\w+?
Change to
$0
Find Format
(select the empty box by clicking inside it - then select the paragraph style)
Change all
And it should give a word count for you.
Come to think about it - it was asked before here
There's more how-to's there with more indepth GREPs

Doesn't look it works - I've done the first three paragraph styles, and together they already add up to more words than are in the document. They should add up to about a third of the words.
I first did paragraph style 1, and I get a dialogue box that says "Search is completed. 33802 replacements made". I close that and it brings me back to the main Find/Change dialogue box. They I do the same paragraph style 2, and it returns 56204, then 250307 for paragraph style 3. But there are only 255,000 words in the document and I have 6 other paragraph style to check (all 9 have about the same amount of words each).
Hmmm ...
I'll check out the link you provided. Thanks

Make an InCopy story of it, and open it in InCopy. There are panels for this function.
