How do I make and Interactive PDF change when the original document is edited?

I have an InDesign document that I would like to make into an Interactive PDF with sound clips for each page.

However, I don't want my original document to have the sound clips because it will be printed. So I think the only option is to make a copy of my original document, add sound clips, and then export it as an Interactive PDF? Unless there's a way to make it invisible on the document but visible when exported as an interactive PDF?

However if I make a new document, I want any changes I made to the original document to update automatically in the new document (with the sound clips). Is there a way that I can do this so that I don't have to make all edits twice?

You can't include audio files into a PDF for successful distribution. Use FXL ePub, InDesign's Publish Online instead, alternatively, have a look at in5, an InDesign plugin (at extra cost).

1. Place the sound clips on a separate layer, so you can show/hide it before exporting to PDF.

2. In Acrobat Pro you can use the "Replace page" feature. It replace the layout only, all other elements (comments, fields, multimedia, metadata, etc.) will stays untouched.
