I'm trying to place different lines of text next to a logo using data merge. I want all of the text to be visible without it going over the logo or off the paper, and I want InDesign to increase only the height of the text frame if necessary.
I looked in the text frame options and thought the "maximum column width" option would be the solution. However, if the required column width exceeds this maximum, InDesign solves this by adding a second column instead of increasing the height of the frame/column. Is there something I can try instead?
Please feel free to ask more questions if it's unclear, because English is not my first language.

Hi @Rota:
Why not set the max width of the text frame by extending it to include the widest possible field, knowing that all fields will then fit? And then set the Auto-Size to Height only, anchoring the top so that it extends down, when necessary?
